Mission Statement
Dr. Stock has received recognition as a “Top Doc” by Phoenix Magazine since 2004, and received the most votes of any Cardiologist in 2014. He has been nationally recognized since 2003 in Best Doctors of America, Patients Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition 2011, 2012, and 2014, as well as many local magazines.
Dr. Stock has worked with and helped train medical students, residents, and fellows. He has served on many leadership committees, including a National Pediatric Cardiology Coding committee, Medical Director for Pediatric Cardiology at Cardon Children Medical Center, Executive committee at Arizona Pediatric Cardiology, and head of noninvasive Cardiology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has served on the leadership team for the Phoenix Pediatric Society, as a board member for Shape up US, and has served on multiple committees at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Banner Desert Medical Center.
He has published multiple abstracts, and articles and has lectured in Arizona and nationally on varying topics related to Pediatric Cardiology. His specialties include Cardiac Ultrasound (cardiac echo) including Fetal Echocardiography (diagnosis of heart problems in the unborn baby), and Transesophageal Echocardiography. His current practice includes the evaluation and treatment of congenital heart disease from fetal diagnosis into adulthood.
Sharon’s area of special interest in Pediatric Cardiology includes pacemaker evaluation, Coumadin management, and care of patients with advanced heart failure. Sharon has a passion for patient and family education, and has developed many educational tools for families. Sharon Pfeiffer’s research has primarily been focused on medication management in high-risk populations. She has presented her research in Pediatric Cardiology at National meetings.
Sharon is an active volunteer for Children’s causes. Her “other job” outside Pediatric Cardiac Care of Arizona is as Director of the Nick and Kelly Children’s Heart Camp. This annual camp provides a medically-supervised 5-day experience for kids and teens with heart problems (congenital heart disease). She also volunteers for her local Girl Scout neighborhood.
After return to Arizona, Jamie worked part-time, educating PA students at two local AZ Physician Assistant programs for several years while raising a family. She has in depth knowledge of dyslipidemias and hypertension and has published an article about managing cholesterol in adults with heart disease. Jamie has always loved the field of Cardiology and is honored to join Dr. Stock and Sharon in taking care of kids who need a heart specialist. She is happy that at PCCAZ, she will be able to use all of her past experiences to deliver meaningful and quality care to patients.
